Herb Pharm prepares their Black Walnut Extract from the fresh (undried) fruit hull of Juglans nigra trees which are sustainably wildcrafted in their natural wild habitat. To assure optimal extraction of Black Walnuts bioactive compounds, the fruit is hand-harvested only in autumn when the hulls are still green but are beginning to soften. The hull is removed from the outside of the fruit and then promptly extracted while still fresh and succulent.
